Our earlier Facebook post examined the similarities between the proposed rules and Abrams’s publicly described redevelopment concept.
Those similarities include large retailers, fuel sales, groceries, medical and fitness uses, and multiple buildings. The ordinance would accommodate those features, while also applying to other qualifying properties and owners. The records reviewed do not establish which provisions Abrams requested. What has changed since the cancelled August 31 meeting?
The earlier packet included two alternative boundary maps. Monday’s revised, 38-page packet includes neither. Page 2 still refers to an attached boundary map—Exhibit B—but that exhibit is missing. Earlier packet (PDF) · Revised packet (PDF).
Why does that matter? These rules govern permitted uses, development intensity, parking, access and separate ownership of buildings and pads. The written proposal identifies Berkshire Mall and describes a broader area, but residents cannot inspect the referenced map showing the proposed boundaries in the latest packet.
